So, what exactly is a Bitmoji? A bitmoji uses your selfie to create a cartoon version of yourself. You may customize your personal avatar, and share hundreds of comics and expressions of it with friends on any app. It’s fun, simple, and completely free. While Bitmoji just sprang up six years ago, it was acquired by Snap in 2017 and quickly made it into the top 10 apps for iPhone. Sounds impressive? Let’s take a closer look at the good and bad of this app.
The app generates a personal avatar with your selfie - accurately.
First of all, having tried a few emoji-like apps, I can testify that Bitmoji has a leg up on avatar generation. It automatically creates a mini cartoon based on my selfie - with accuracy and attention to detail. Imagine the joy a vivid avatar could bring to your life. It feels like a dream come true 😇! Not only that, Bitmoji allows me to fine-tune my hairstyle, face shape, skin tone, body type, as well as choosing my favorite seasonal outfit. You can play around and change features of your avatar anytime - like a stylist!

Bitmoji not only gives you a personalized experience, but lets you share hundreds of comic strips based on your avatar on any app. This robust feature makes it possible to express ourselves - with a variety of settings, quotes, facial expressions, and poses! While online messages are simple and direct, Bitmoji adds a lot more self-expression and fun 😜. Whatever chat or social media app you use, you can select and insert your favorite sticker with one click. Wouldn’t it be nice for your family and friends to see you in those stickers during this stay-at-home time?

The app doesn’t offer a wide choice of eye sizes.
One disappointing feature of Bitmoji is that it only gives 3 eye size options, none of which is close to what my eyes look like 🙁. It’s true that big eyes can better express the characters’ minds, which is probably why they are preferred by cartoonists and Bitmoji designers. Nevertheless, Bitmoji could improve their product by including more eye sizes so that users with smaller eyes - like me - would still find the perfect eyes for ourselves.

Laptop users need to copy and paste Bitmojis to their platforms.
Another notable downside is that it can be arduous to use Bitmoji on your computer. Although you may add Bitmoji extensions to Chrome, it requires users to right click the sticker, then copy and paste it. The process is much more like copy-and-paste an image than inserting an emoji! Inconvenience of use on computers is one of the biggest knocks against Bitmoji, according to expert reviewers. Hopefully, sending Bitmojis in emails could be as effortless as inserting smileys very soon!
All in all, Bitmoji is a hidden gem. Seeing ourselves in various cartoon strips brings new sensations and enjoyment. It helps us connect with our loved ones. Furthermore, for those of you too shy to share real-life photos, it offers an alternative to express ourselves - creatively and authentically. While this app is far from perfect, it makes it possible to share our emoji-style avatar on any app. I love using Bitmoji and can’t wait to see each of your avatars. Who knows? Maybe someday we will have a Bitmoji virtual party! 🥳
Wow! Bitmoji is a terrific app to use and I absolutely love it. It's a really interesting app. Especially during pandemic, its always good to find something fun to spend the time. haha In my opinion, I think it’s really cool to have all these different hairstyle options to choose from. I specifically love how you can mix and match clothes, it’s honestly a awesome app!!!
